Terms And Tips For Wireless Security

When your Internet connection is wireless, the efficient deployment of both firewall and virus scanner is absolutely necessary.
Whenever possible use HTTPS protocol instead of HTTP.

Wireless Networking or Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) are based on the IEEE 802.11X standards. X stands for b, a or g. These standards define how to wirelessly connect computers or devices to a network. Wireless enabled devices send and receive data indoors and out, anywhere within the range of a wireless access point (WAP or AP). A WAP is a device that connects wireless communication devices together to form a wireless network. It usually connects to a wired network, and can relay data between wireless devices and wired devices. Several WAP s can link together to form a larger network for roaming.
See IEEE 802.11X Standards.
